Very few minerals occur naturally on Sheppey, those that do can be easily found except for amber which is very rare.

Can these be called modern fossils. Crabs in concretions less than two thousand years old

Coastal erosion is of major concern for some residents on Sheppey, as the cliffs are receding at an alarming rate. Great for fossil nuts though.
